Sales Policy
Upon purchasing a rabbit from our rabbitry, all of the following points will be agreed
upon. Buyers agree to this policy regardless to whether or not this policy is read. This policy is in place to protect not only myself, but the buyer and most importantly, the rabbit(s).
If for some reason you cannot keep a pet rabbit purchased from Soft Paws
Haven, the rabbit will be returned to me and I will take responsibility of
finding the rabbit a new home. No refund will be given.
For breeding and show rabbits, I reserve the right of first refusal should a rabbit purchased from Soft Paws Haven outlive it's usefulness in the buyer's herd. I won't always have the need to buy back a rabbit, but more often than not, I will buy back a rabbit for the original purchase price. I will pay more for rabbits that have earned legs, been registered with ARBA and granded after being sold.
PAYMENT
Payment may be cash,
(exact change please, we do not carry change), Paypal, or money order.
We do not hold rabbits without payment, no exceptions.
To be placed on hold, a non refundable deposit of 50% of the sales price must be
received. Rabbits placed on hold can only be held for up to 10 days, after which
a boarding fee of $5 a day will apply, unless another date is determined before the deposit is sent.
All sales are
final.
SHIPPING/DELIVERY
Rabbits can be
picked up from a public place in Prescott, AZ or they can be delivered for a small fee
to Arizona areas where you can meet me. On occasion I can meet at out of state
shows or conventions or along the route I am taking. I can ship to any US state if there are ground transporters making runs, please inquire if interested. If I am arranging transport, ground shipping requires a minimum of a $300 purchase. If the buyer arranges transport, there is no minimum shipping purchase. Air transit is an option if ground transit cannot be arranged, and requires a minimum of a $600 purchase. Please inquire for more information or air transit. Air transit in the summer months is not an option due to the tarmac at the Phoenix airport reaching temperatures well above deadly for rabbits.
QUALITY
Show quality means the rabbit has no
DQ's and shows potential to be a show animal. We cannot guarantee a rabbit will
win or even place, especially with the tough competition in the Southwest. Show
quality rabbits will still have faults to some degree, as no rabbit is perfect
in every attribute.
Show quality rabbits range from $150 to $450+ and is determined on quality, variety, age, awards, production history and lineage.
Brood quality means the rabbit has strengths that
could help in a breeding program but the rabbit might not place well in shows,
is overweight or has mismatched nails. We cannot guarantee a rabbit bought for
breeding will produce offspring, money will not be refunded if they fail to
produce.
Brood quality rabbits range from $100 to $300 and is determined on quality, variety, age, awards, production history and lineage.
Pet quality means the rabbit should not be used in a breeding
program but has the temperament to be an excellent pet. We do NOT sell pets that
have shown any aggressive behavior here. No pedigrees are given on pet rabbits.
Pets come with starter food, care sheet and nails
trimmed.
Pet quality rabbits start at $80 and generally don't surpass $125, although the rare colors cost more.
GUARANTEES
Soft Paws Haven guarantees the
health of any rabbit that leaves our rabbitry for up to 72 hours after the rabbit
has left our property. If for some reason the rabbit becomes sick during this
time and it is not due to stress from the adjustment time, being over fed, over
handled, mistreated, exposed to extreme temperatures or suffered an injury caused by other
pets, handlers, transporters or children, has been fed something not recommended in a rabbit's diet,
then we will do our best to get you an equal replacement rabbit as soon as one
is available, as long as you have proof from a vet it was sick when purchased. It
will be your responsibility to travel to pick up replacement. Any transportation and veterinary fees are at
the buyer's expense. Please notify us within 24 hrs if a rabbit becomes ill or
shows signs of being sick, not after the rabbit has died. We do not guarantee
rabbits that have been transported through a 3rd party
Teeth:
We guarantee at time of sale, the rabbit will not have any form of malocclusion.
Toenails:
On a show quality rabbit, we guarantee at time of sale, the
rabbit has no white/mismatched toenails on a solid rabbit. Broken, torn or bruised toenails
often come back in white, so we cannot guarantee toenails beyond time of sale.
Please check at time of purchase if you are concerned, we do not guarantee
toenail color on a brood or pet quality rabbit.
Ear carriage, stray white hairs,
weight and fertility are not guaranteed. We are honest at time of sale about all
of these things, but they can change with maturity/age and handling or
environment.
Winnings:
We will never guarantee that you will win, even
with a superior rabbit. Please do not expect to get superior show quality
rabbits who will win at the tables if they are priced as brood. We are very fair with the pricing, and there are several factors that play a role in the pricing of our rabbits. If you are wanting a pet, please don't ask me to lower a price on a rabbit priced for show. I will not reduce the price on a rabbit because your intent is to get a pet.
Behavior:
We do not guarantee behavior on any animal we sell. Temperament will be noted as
time of sale, but environment, hormones and handling play a huge part in a rabbit's
behavior. Our line is known for having a great temperament, but should you be
looking for a pet for a child, it is best to spay and neuter your bunny for the
best behavior.
We do not use litter boxes and do not recommend solid bottom cages. What you use is up to you, but please be aware that my rabbits are kept on wire bottom cages that allow all excrement to fall below the rabbit into drop pans, eliminating the chances of coming into contact with it. None of our rabbits have issues with sore hocks, and despite the popular, non-factual opinion of the House Rabbit Society, wire bottom cages do not cause sore hocks. Poor breeding, obesity and unsanitary living conditions are the sole contributors to sore hocks, which are more likely to occur on solid bottom flooring. Despite this, rabbits can still be relatively easy to litter box train should you decide to do so.
We do not guarantee that your rabbit will always remain
free of disqualifications. You need to check your rabbit at time of sale to
check for DQ's, as we do occasionally miss them. Rabbits can also develop DQ's
at any time during their lives, for which we cannot remain
responsible.
*****RHVD2 NOTICE*****
Due to the recent outbreak of the deadly RHVD2 virus throughout the southwestern United States, our rabbitry is closed to the public for biosecurity reasons. Because of this, I unfortunately cannot allow meet and greets outside of my rabbitry. I will do my best to provide all the pictures and videos you need. Thank you for being understanding during this trying time, as the safety of my rabbits is my top priority.
At this time, Yavapai County has been clear of any reported cases of wild or domestic infections for over 90 days.
Due to the high cost of the foreign made vaccine, ($100+ per rabbit) the difficulty in obtaining it, and the risk of transporting groups of rabbit to the vet, my herd is un-vaccinated at this time. It is recommended that pet owners secure an appointment to vaccinate before bringing your rabbit home, but is not a requirement. It is my hope that the USDA approves the vaccine soon so breeders can afford to vaccinate their entire herds.
We no longer keep a wait list, so checking up on our Facebook page or through e-mail will be the best way to keep track of our available bunnies. Rabbits are sold at a first come, first served basis.
I care for my rabbit's welfare and because
of this I reserve the right to refuse a sale to anyone, at any time, especially
if I have concerns over how another will care for my rabbits. I also will check
up on the bunnies purchased from me periodically(via e-mail) to see how they are
doing as I always think about ones I have sold and I love them all. If you are
not ok with this, then you will not be allowed to purchase from
me.
All sales are final.
